Flushing Your Browser Cache

Web Browsers store images and other elements of html code in a "cache" so that the next time you visit the page it will load faster. While this speeds up the browsing experience, it can cause problems when posting new material to a site — the browser keeps pulling from the cache and you can’t see your changes. Time to flush your cache!

Getting Started with iChat

Here’s how to set up iChat for the first time. We’ll create a Jabber Account — Jabber is one of many protocols for Instant Messaging (IM). This assumes that you’ve already set up an account with a Jabber Server, that will include an address, ie, myname@jabber.com, and a password. Though based on Jabber, this set up will probably work for other types of IM accounts.

Setting Up Mail Accounts

This covers how to set up new email accounts using Apple’s Mail.app. It assumes you’ve already set up an email account with an internet service provider or webhost. We’re focusing on email that is served by DreamHost as part of a personal webdomain, ie, me@mysite.com, but the settings will apply to most mail servers.
