Logging in and the basics of posting with WordPress.

Logging into WordPress

This assumes you have a web domain with the latest version of WordPress installed. Logging in for the first time, add /wp-admin/ to your root URL, hit return, and it will bring you to the log in screen. Type in user name and password and click login. If you want to go automatically to the page from now on (on this computer/browser) check "remember me."

Opening Page

WordPress opens into the Dashboard to begin with. Click on Write and you can compose and publish your first post.

Posts and Pages

Posts are time-oriented items that usually get added to your website with the most recent post at the top of the page. Pages are static items, such as an About Page, that stand out of time. Click on Write Post.

Create a Title in the first box, type or paste in your content in the larger box, then click on Publish, and wa la….

Edit Posts

Click on Manage, then Posts, and you will go to a list of your Posts. For each Post, you can View, Edit or Delete. Click on Edit.

Edit a Post

MAke any changes to the Title or the Content, then click on Save and Continue Editing or Save.
